What motivates someone to become a hair stylist? Vince became inspired in high school after seeing the movie Shampoo with Warren Beatty. From humble beginnings at 19 years old as a “shampoo boy” to “Artistic Director” at the world famous Bruno and Soonie Salon in Beverly Hills, Vince has had the pleasure of working on a variety of “A list” celebrities. In addition to the teachings of Bruno Meglio and Soonie Paik, Vince also studied with great masters in Europe and has received training at Vidal Sassoon of London. Over the past 14 years, he has returned to its Advanced Academy several times. You can also find Vince once a month (the first Saturday of each month) at Giuseppe Franco Salon in Beverly Hills, where his serves his LA based clients, some of which have been coming to Vince for over 20 years.
As a salon owner, Vince is able to pursue his passion for teaching. He personally trains each and every one of his staff with the finest techniques in hair and customer service. By doing this he ensures that each of client’s individual needs are met; whether it’s with a hand crafted espresso drink, the latest fashion magazine, contemporary music, or just some friendly conversation.
- Ayao Suzuki
Ayao Suzuki started her career at the world renowned Vidal Sassoon Academy where she was educated in the art of hair cutting and coloring. After graduating with honors she then went on to work for the famous Bruno and Soonie Salon in Beverly Hills. Ayao started out as a personal assistant to Bruno and later established herself as a stylist with her own clientele. She specializes in all aspects of hair from cutting to coloring of all age groups. She also furthered her education and became a certified Brazilian Blowout and Coppola Keratin treatment specialist. Ayao also does the tinsel extensions known as Shimmerlys where she creates beautiful extension highlights in her client's hair. She has been serving her clients as a hair stylist for 11 years.
- Christina Voge
Christina Voge remembers being just 9 years old when she thought she wanted to be a hairstylist. She attended cosmetology school at Lake Forest Beauty College in Orange County where she grew up. After finishing school she started working under Vince Newlan at the Vincent Michael Salon where she learned Vidal Sassoon cutting. After working in Orange County for a few years she thought she would move up to Beverly Hills and get extra training. She started working at the Chris McMillan Salon in Beverly Hills under a few different stylists and colorists where she learned how to do natural looking beach highlights and blow-dries. After realizing LA wasn’t where she wanted to stay she took everything she learned and moved back to Orange County where she applied everything she had learned to all her new clients. Christina is now at the Vincent Michael Salon full time and specializes in men and women’s cutting, coloring, styling, Brazilian Blowouts, and extensions.
- Emily Hastings
Emily Hastings started loving hair has a child, growing up with three older sisters and a mother that had to have her hair perfect at all times. Emily had a lot of influences! In high school, she thought she wanted to be a nurse, so she took a "Medical and Hospital Careers" ROP program and worked at a local hospital, but realized she couldn't handle the emotional side of the job! She loved helping people and making them feel good so she thought doing hair would fit her. After high school at San Clemente High, she enrolled at Lake Forest Beauty College. She graduated in 08' and started at Vincent Michael Salon shortly after, and as an assistant she learned Vidal Sassoon cutting and ENJOY coloring techniques! Emily specializes in cuts, colors, and updo styles!
- Brianna Brockman
As long as she can remember, Brianna has always loved making people feel happy and great about themselves. Hawaii born and California raised, Brianna is a true beach girl and takes inspiration from the beach and nature in her work, striving to always bring out and accentuate your hair’s natural beauty. She has worked under Vincent Michael for many years, developing a specialization in cuts, colors, and event styles. Brianna is sure to emphasize your best features for any special occasion and every other day of the week.
- Patrick Moran
Patrick Moran was one of Vince’s first protégés. Patrick attended Vidal Sassoon academy San Francisco and cuts strictly according to Sassoon specifications. Specializing in colour Patrick applies a hybrid of Aveda, Joico, and Enjoy color application to create a unparalleled, natural looking color outcome. He has accompanied Vince for the past several years working at multiple Beverly Hills Salons, acquiring a skill set that isn't easy to come across in Orange County.
- Amy Gutierrez
Amy comes from an artistic background. From a very young age, she knew that whichever career she decided to pursue, it wasn't going to be spent behind a desk. After carefully evaluating which form of art she wanted to focus on, Amy aspired to be a great hair stylist. Shortly after graduating beauty school, she began assisting Vince at Vincent Michael Salon. Amy chose Vincent Michael Salon because everyone is great at what they do and are genuinely friendly. She believes that the best way to look your personal best is to have an amazing haircut. "When you have a haircut that you like and also compliments your features and lifestyle, you not only look great but you feel that way. You feel good, you project that positive energy and other people can perceive it. That's why I'm focusing on mastering flattering haircuts using modern techniques. When you come and sit in my chair my goal is to make you look fabulous and feel refreshed. After all, a trip to the salon should make you feel like you're treating yourself and getting pampered.
